What's Your Chocolate
My favorite chocolate is dark chocolate. Why? Because it's delicious and it seems to be less likely to trigger a migraine. And there's that thing where it may be a little bit good for you.
I have a great recipe for chocolate chunk cookies. There are several kinds of chocolate in them with varying sizes - milk chocolate, semi-sweet, and dark. I tend to be heavy handed with the dark chocolate chips because they are delicious. The recipe also has toffee chips and white chocolate chips or vanilla chips. Sometimes we add nuts, sometimes we don't. My kids and I love to make them super-sized. Must make some today.
Thanks to M Pax, Laura Eno, Brinda Berry, and Ciara Knight for hosting this delicious blogfest.

What, no samples?
ReplyDeleteI love dark chocolate too, and it tastes less guilty when you think about all the medicinal benefits it's credited with. :))
I agree.
Deleteyummy... I think I might make cookies when I get home from work
ReplyDeleteI didn't get a chance to make any yesterday - today is looking bad too - maybe tomorrow.... Maybe when I get my outline done that will be my reward.
DeleteI've heard that dark chocolate is the healthier option - I wonder why? To me chocolate is chocolate...
ReplyDeleteThe older I get the less yummy milk chocolate is.
DeleteJust don't add raisins. Ruins the whole purpose by trying to make it healthy.
ReplyDeleteI do not like raisins.
DeleteOh- the cookie recipe sounds yummy- I'd love to read it. Dark chocolate is not my first choice, but I do feel better about indulging in it, than when I eat some of the other chocolates out there.
ReplyDeleteJust normal base dough for chocolate chipp cookies then add the variety of chips instead of just one.
DeleteMmmm... I'm with you Tonja -- I LOVE dark chocolate!
ReplyDeleteIt is the most delicious food ever.
DeleteDark chocolate gets my vote, too. I like the taste better, it's a more intense chocolate. Milk chocolate has more fat content, I believe, but not sure about that.
ReplyDeleteThat cookie recipe sounds like a winner. I don't like raisins in my cookies or other baking either (re Alex's comment)
I don't like raisins at all. If we make oatmeal cookies, we use craisins sometimes but never raisins. My husband loves them - it's a source of conflict for us.
DeleteMe too, it's my favorite after dinner treat.
ReplyDeleteCookies in general are my favorite.
DeleteWarm chocolate chip cookies with toffee chips and vanilla ice cream sounds so good right now. My husband would gobble it up.
ReplyDeleteYum. Really high quality vanilla ice cream, not the ultra smooth fluffy kind.
DeleteIt is good for you...like one small cube of it. Unfortunately, that does not give you license to down a whole bar.
ReplyDeleteI think combined with the sugar and white flour in the dough it's not actually going to be considered a health food. :)
DeleteMmm, those sound good. I love dark chocolate, too.
ReplyDeleteI hated it as a child. I think it's an acquired taste.
DeleteThose sound like awesome cookies. The more chocolate the better!
ReplyDeleteI think the tiny chips and the big ones and the chunks and a little bit of nut is like an explosion of yumminess with every bite.
DeleteThese sound good, especially the white chocolate chunks since that's my favorite chocolate :)
ReplyDeleteI especially like it with vanilla chips. I'm not sure what vanilla chips are - maybe vanilla flavored white chocolate?
DeleteI don't like dark chocolate on its own, but it's great in cookies so yeah, love the choco-chip ones!
ReplyDeleteCatherine Stine’s Idea City
I like the chips alone too. :)
DeleteBy all means, don't neglect the needs of the children. Make those cookies!
ReplyDeleteI have now gotten to the point where I don't bother to eat chocolate unless it's dark chocolate. Milk chocolate is just sickly and weak by comparison, so why take on the fat and calories for something I don't truly enjoy.
ReplyDeleteAnd never get my husband started on why white chocolate isn't really chocolate at all ...
I agree about white chocolate - it's just sugar to me.
DeleteI love dark chocolate too and the best thing about it is that it's good for you :)
ReplyDeleteAdding toffee chips to the cookies sounds great! Thanks for joining the blogfest. :)
ReplyDeleteLaura Eno
Thanks for hosting. I the different sizes of things - big chips and small, some chopped - makes the cookie really interesting.
DeleteMy husband loves dark chocolate. I'm not a big fan though I understand it's better for you than milk chocolate.
ReplyDeleteMilk chocolate gives me a headache sort of like a bad tequila hangover. Not worth it for me.
DeleteOMG that sounds so good. I'm a dark chocolate fan, too. All this chocolate going around makes me want to go on a binge:)
ReplyDeleteMe too - chocolate covered in chocolate sounds perfect!
DeleteI love the fact that I can call dark chocolate health food!
ReplyDeleteAck! You tell us you have a great recipe and then you don't post it? Don't keep us in suspenders!
ReplyDeleteWell, it's not my recipe. But it's basically just normal dough for chocolate chip cookies tripled to handle the excess of a variety of chips. No raisins.
DeleteI have to laugh about the little thing about dark chocolate being good for you. My niece recently returned from a trip with some absolutely yummy dark chocolate, and every time I chow down on another piece I try to tell myself how it's good for me, so no problem. :D
ReplyDeleteThose cookies sound like a chocoholic's delight!
ReplyDeleteThose cookies sound so naughty and delicious!!!
ReplyDeleteI love chocolate too. Those cookies sound delish! I need to recipe please.
ReplyDeleteI'll take an order of vanilla chunk cookies! Just stopping by from the Chocolate Blog Hop and saying hi!
