Two days ago I finished my novel. I wrote a post here congratulating myself and then felt rude about it, so I deleted it. I was excited to resume work on my NaNo novel and had a feeling that I could actually finish it - not just my half goal, but the original 50K goal. And then personal stuff got in the way and stopped me in my tracks.
I don't think I will feel like writing today. I feel like going back to bed after I herd my children to school. One of my characters is depressed, so maybe I can call it research.
One thing I did do yesterday, that I feel very good about, is I researched publishers. It didn't fill me with anxiety, didn't frustrate me, and wasn't overwhelming. Definitely a step in the right direction.
I hope your day is productive and doesn't include "research" - unless what you really need is a nap.
I'm so sad that you deleted the post. I'm excited for you about your book though. Finishing a novel is such a big deal and I'm so proud of you. :)
ReplyDeleteWhen I finished my first two novels, both times I took my friends out to lunch. I know it sounds silly, but I just had to celebrate. So much time and hard work goes into writing. It's just fun celebrating :) I wish I could take you out to lunch--eating out with friends is just too much fun LOL!
Elisabeth - Thanks. That would be fun. :)
ReplyDeleteI didn't think your post was rude. You finished your novel. That's something to celebrate. So congrats anyway. :P
ReplyDeleteLG - Thank you.
ReplyDeleteIt's such a good feeling to finish your novel! I say good for you! (I'm also a wee bit jealous, too!) Take a break away from your writing, and take care of yourself. Personal issues can get in my way, also - so it can be tough. Good luck to you!
