Power Writing Injury?

Quick post today, not because I need to go write my novel (which I do), but because I wrote so much yesterday and sat for so long, apparently with less than ideal posture, that my foot is numb again except for that thing where it feels like a nail is through the center of it.  I know I should be feeling all thankful and stuff this week, but seriously, I wish this would just magically go away.

I do not want to have to go back to physical therapy ever if only because it takes away two hours of my day I don't want to give.  So I'm going to join the gym today (or bust out a video or some weights or something at home) and commit to doing it three times a week until I'm feeling like I felt when I was thirty-eight.  I remember feeling fantastic not that long ago....

I did manage to write 4000 words yesterday. Yay!  I'm definitely going to finish half a NaNo novel, maybe more.

  1. Rock on! I did 150 words yesterday. My celebration for doing 3300 the day before. Which of course means I didn't make up any ground (I'm 10k behind the pace). Go exercise, feel good. I might do that today myself.

  2. My wrists are a little sore from all the typing I did this weekend. I'll just have to play through the pain and pop a couple Aleve or Tylenol or something. Or get one of those cortizone shots like the athletes do.

  3. 4000?!?! That's awesome! Congrats! Sorry it left pain in its wake. :( Hopefully it'll go away as quickly as it came!

  4. Rusty - I'm right there with you, but more like 15K in the hole.

Dr Grumpy - Fear the cortisone shots. I have more of a disabling kind of nerve damage thing that can't be ignored. Narcotics work, but doesn't make for coherent writing.

    Peggy - Thanks!

  5. Bummer on the foot - get some exercise and see what happens. Good news on the writing though!

  11. Yea, on the 4,000 words.

Regular workouts help me with my RSI / nerve issues. Stick to what feels good and away from anything that can aggravate.

I wish you quick healing and a happy Thanksgiving. :)

  13. Ugh! I hope you managed to make that go away! I definitely have days my back aches from sitting and typing too long. Let's make a pact to get up every once in a while and move a little and stretch a little to keep our bodies happy...

(well done on word count though!)

  16. Lynda - It's like God's joke - I could have written 6000 words that day, but I can only sit for 1500.

Hart - Yes, definitely need to write for 30 stretch for 10, write for 30, stretch for 10.

    Missed Periods - Thanks. :)
