On Hiatus

I am on an unplanned hiatus this week - my husband is "in country" as they say at his work, which means he's not in this one.  My foot has been killing me with all the extra driving this week and with no real break in the evening.  The last few days have undone 18 months of babying my foot.  And my little guy isn't feeling great - he is a little sick and misses his dad a lot.

So I give myself a break from writing tonight and the rest of this week so I can sleep a little - and expect a little bit less of myself for just a few days.

I worked on my novel on Monday and honestly don't remember if I did any writing on Tuesday - which means if I do write today, it will be horrible and a waste of time anyway.  I did an amazing amount of upfront design work on this novel and now am very thankful.  I can take time off this week and jump right back in much more easily.

I can't wait to finish it, I'm so excited about it.  I want to do it now, I really do...but I need to sleep.

I have had only 3-5 hours sleep a night this week with all the storms, throbbing foot, unhappy baby, and 5:00 AM alarm clocks to wake up kids for school that starts way too early (no one should have to wake up at 5:00 to go to school, seriously).  My baby went to sleep early tonight, and my kids are in bed reading.  Now it's my turn.

I wish you all a good night sleep.  Please, God, let there be no more storms tonight.  I don't know where the flashlights are and am too tired to look.

  1. May you have a quiet night and a peaceful sleep. Hope your foot gets better quick. Nothing like aches or pains to make life harder. Good luck and keep your chin up!

I need to get better at planning my novels up front. I really do.
