Alex Blogfest

This blogfest is brought to us by Mark Koopmans, Morgan Shamy, David Powers King and Stephen Tremp in an effort to honor and embarrass our Ninja leader, Alex J Cavanaugh, creator of Insecure Writer's Support Group, author of three Cassa novels, and friend to all aspiring writers.

WHAT DOES ALEX LOOK LIKE?

I imagine Alex looks exactly like the guy that used to sit in the cubicle next to me (not the annoying one or the one that smelled really bad).

WHO COULD PLAY ALEX IN A DOCUMENTARY?

Uh, documentaries aren't usually acted out, so Alex would, right?

WHO DOES ALEX REMIND ME OF?

Alex reminds me of the one normalish kid in Stand by Me, the one that's a friend to everyone and has everyone's back.

FLASH FICTION (Not):

I'm gong to pass on the flash fiction because I know Alex won't mind.

I do want to get all gushy and say how much I appreciate him for doing his part (a huge part) in making this blogging community so awesome.

  1. Tonja, thank you! (Glad I don't remind you of the guy who smelled.) Really appreciate the kind words. And I do have your back!

  5. Yeah, that's a good pick, comparing him to the kid in Stand By Me. Definitely a stand up guy who's a friend to everyone. :)

  8. I'm trying to remember if I've seen Stand By Me ... I'm sure I have, so I know who you're talking about. Great post! :)

  9. I loved Stand By Me! Was it the River Phoenix character? The cubicle idea was very clever! Julie

  13. Stand by Me was an awesome movie. And yeah, Alex does seem like that sort of guy, doesn't he? :)

  14. Alex does have everyone's back. Agreed. :-)

  15. Alex defintiely has everyone's back. I wonder where he keeps them? ;)

  16. Alex is the 'normal' kid? Well, compared to a lot of us.

  17. You know what else... I'm impressed that he remains humble even while having a blogfest just for him :)

  18. I agree with Allison. I love how he's being so humble and supportive of the blogfest. But I wouldn't be able to think of anyone else to have a blogfest for. Alex was there when I first started and is always offering up encouragement and advice. I don't know how he does what he does every single day, but I'm totally thankful that he does it! :D

  21. Great catch on the documentary. I cheated on the flash fiction part too ;)

  22. I share the same sentiments...and propensity to break the rules! :)

  23. You're right. He does seem to have everyone's back. That's a huge job, isn't it? But he seems to thrive on it. Great post.
