W is for Wagons

I'm not sure what it is about wagons, but all of my kids loved them.  We have the kind with the side rails that come off.  My boys are very willing to help me in the garden if they can load up whatever supplies I need in the wagon. Usually my older boy pulls the wagon and my little guy rides on top of the bags of mulch or garden soil.

If my little guy is upset outside, all my big kid needs to do is offer a wagon ride and it's all smiles.  Magic.

It's definitely going to be a gardening weekend this weekend (at first I wrote 'today' - it definitely seems like Friday).  I might just live dangerously and plant tomatoes a week too soon.  Today I'm going to get my little guy in gardening/little worker mode by letting him take a hose and some suds to the wagon and offer him a ride.

Have a great weekend!

  2. Yes, I can relate. I have lots and lots of gardening/landscaping to complete. Seems I can't do this without neglecting my writing. Not enough hours in the day. I'm too tired to write at night so my only choice is choose one. Right now I have to plant while the weather permits. I really need a wagon like yours.(:

    1. I'm neglecting my writing for sure. I never write on Thursdays though, so I have no guilt today. It's my day off. :)

  3. I miss pulling my kids in a wagon. Gotta enjoy the times while we can because they grow up so fast.

    1. It was beautiful here this morning. And then it got dreary. No wagon fun today.

  5. A great wagon for kids, they can 'imagine' it to be anything from a limo to a tractor, I'm sure.

    1. I agree. My little guy loves pretending to be a worker. He refers to the older boys down the street as his 'co-workers' since they helped us dig weeds last year. :)

    1. Definitely worth the money. I've had mine for 14 years since my oldest was tiny.

  7. Live on the wild side and get those tomatoes in the ground. You can always put those water wall warmer things around them. See all those W's I worked in there. :)

    1. Is it sad that the wildest thing I'll be doing this weekend is planting my tomatoes one week early?

  10. I wish I could still bribe my kids with something so simple. They're old enough to try and bargain for financial rewards.

  11. Ooh! Thanks for sharing this. I just bought a wagon for our daughter, but it was cheap (the only available) and the wheels barely roll. May have to look for one like this.

  13. My sister and I never had a wagon growing up (what sad, deprived children we were). Hope you and your boys have fun in the garden this weekend :)
