When I thought about the letter Y, I instantly thought yo-yo. And yo-yo brought me instantly to the lines about Jo-Jo.
A very small, very small shirker named Jo-JoI am pretty certain this story alone is the one book that inspired me to be a writer. The beginning is perfection. The motto - a person's a person no matter how small - is wonderful. He even fit in a boiling pot of Beezle-Nut stew. It's pure genius.
Was standing, just standing, and bouncing a Yo-Yo!
Not making a sound! Not a yipp! Not a chirp!
And the Mayor rushed inside and he grabbed the young twerp!
love Dr Seuss, all his books have meanings

I'd have to say my favorite Dr. Suess book was the Lorax. Although, I do have a sweatshirt that is from Horton Hears a Who with the saying, "A person is a person, no matter how small." It's one of my favorites :)
