I've decided to use
NaNoWriMo this year as an opportunity (i.e., the external pressure I very much need to combat the distractions in my life) to finish my current novel and get myself into the habit of writing daily.
I have 60,000 words to go and really thought I would have finished this novel by now, but I just haven't put the hours in.
My critique partner signed up and has another writing friend that's participating. As a result of the solidarity and support, I think it's likely we will all complete our writing goals for the month.
If you are participating and want to buddy me, my user name is
Tonjas Musings.
You can do it!
ReplyDeleteI'm like you. I need something like NaNo to force me to write. I'm a lazy writer otherwise.
I keep putting lots of other things first even though this is what I want to be doing.
ReplyDeleteGood luck, Tonja, and happy writing!
ReplyDeleteI don't do NaNo, but I probably could use some outside pressure to sit down and finish my darn WIP. I have never been so unenthusiastic about a first draft during its climax. All I can see are its flaws. But if I don't finish it, I can't fix it. Good luck, and I hope you can finish your draft. Send good vibes my way!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with NaNo! I don't have it in me to do it right now - I haven't even had it in me to keep up with all my online pals (including you, for which I'm sorry). Trying to catch up! :-)
